Word of the Gay: "Gayby Boom"
The "gayby boom" refers to the high increase of gay and lesbian couples who are having or adopting children. The term is also sometimes used to reference the higher numbers of gay people in society today, with more and more people coming out.
I remember when I first heard that word being surprised that there were enough of us becoming parents to warrant it. Nowadays, with our kids in elementary school, it seems most cohabitant gay couples we know are having or working towards having children.
WOO HOO!!! I hope that someday EVERY gay or lesbian couple that want children can have one or ten....We have so many children sitting in foster care looking for a family....a stable place to call home.....We have hundreds of gay/lesbian couples wanting children..... Wouldn't it be just the best.....Yeah, it would.
