Word of the Gay: "Benny Berdache"
"Benny Berdache" is a term for Native Americans to describe effeminate men who were either homosexual or transgender whom they believed to be spiritually superior and enlightened.
Let us enter the 21st Cenury and start using the term Two Spirit unless you know the tribal affiailted respectful term for Two Spirit. We are working hard to banish the "B" word. -Two Spirit Apache

Berdache comes from french speaking settlers of north america, not any native language.
