WNEM, a CBS affiliated network has published fiercely biased anti-gay coverage of the Day of Silence. They quickly took down the article after Queer activists complained that this was a mouthpiece for the right-wing homophobic agenda.

You have got to be kidding me. Do these news organizations hire children for the editorial staff? This sounds like they tried a pretty sophomoric version of fairness - there are two "sides" to the issue, so in order to be "fair," we have to present both sides on equal footing.
No, no, no. Just because you have someone arguing with you doesn't make you both right or both wrong.
And they didn't even do a good job of presenting each side equally. Pretty obvious jackassery, if you ask me.

Well Ben let's see, the mere fact that the article talks about the Day of Silence as a negative thing that needs to be protested for starters with no fair coverage as to why this event is being held. The usage of the term "alternative lifestyles", the use of the term "homosexual activists" as a way to scare people. Quoting the AFA a virulently right-wing anti-gay think tank. There is a reason people are angry and a reason they pulled this article. Too bad they posted it to begin with, I think they should be held accountable.
Well, they never stated it was negative. They are reporting the fact that an organization is urging parents to keep students home during the DOS.
It is all about the context of which it was written. This was basically an action alert piece for the "American Family Association" and was published as legitimate news.
I agree that there may be some issues about the context, but to label the News Article as "a mouthpiece for the right-wing homophobic agenda" is, in my opinion, extreme and unnecessary.
Well Ben, the right-wing Christians are always the one to publish these sentiments and so I found it appropriate to use those words.
The point is that although the context they used was questionable, that does not make it a homophobic article. NPR tends to be liberal, but it would be unfair to call it "a mouthpiece for the left-wing socialist agenda".
Fair enough Ben, you make a valid point. I won't lie I am biased to a progressive point of view obviously but not all right-wingers are anti-gay.

Sorry it did work for a few weeks but I guess the newspaper contacted google to take it off due to activist emails.
