Word of the Gay: "Demisexual"
A "demisexual" is someone who is experiencing a level between sexuality and asexuality. The person does not experience sexual attraction to people based on appearance but rather on their level of intimate connection with the person.
What is 'halfway' about that? I think intimacy is a lot more important than appearance in terms of sexuality--in fact, I think appearance is way overrated. (I only wish I could experience sexual attraction solely on the basis of intimate connection--I really think that's the way to go.)
