The word metrosexual is homophobic. It's a way for self-proclaimed heterosexual individuals to distance themselves or others from gay men. The logic being, hey, who the hell wants to be considered gay? Everyone knows it's embarrassing and disgusting and full of stigma.
Ah yes! I think I heard that term for the 1st time on one of the Bachelor or Bachelorette seasons ;)
One wishes the stereotypes themselves would vanish.
