Demand Rep. Skelton Apologize for Homophobic Remarks

Congressman Ike Skelton (D-MO) has publicly said he wants to keep the Don't Ask Don't Tell policy for fear that repeal would lead to a national discussion about homosexuality.

The chairman of the House Armed Services Committee said Tuesday that he thought the military should keep its ban on openly gay service members in part because he did not want to open a national discussion about homosexuality. The chairman, Representative Ike Skelton, a conservative Missouri Democrat, said he thought the debate in Congress over the proposed repeal of the “don’t ask, don’t tell” policy might force families to explain homosexuality to their children. “What do mommies and daddies say to their 7-year-old child?” Mr. Skelton asked reporters at a news media breakfast. OMFG! What do you tell a 7-year old? The same thing you would say to them if you were talking about a heterosexual couple.

Consider that petition signed.

That's ridiculous.

"I might have to have a serious conversation with a 7 year old. This is worse than losing my entire livelihood by getting kicked out of the military."

He played a leading role in putting Bill Clinton's version of the military ban into place, a version which is deceptively called "Don't Ask, Don't Tell."

What a gigantic fossil of an A-hole !

He must be senile & starting his 2nd childhood. Some one responsible adult needs to sit him down & explain the facts of life, that for his own good we are taking him out of "The HOUSE" & immediately putting him into a "Home" where he'll have well-skilled 24 hour care & diaper change for his dribbling pee-pee & wrinkled old poopie butt !
