MTV's 'Real World' is taking place in New Orleans this season and as usual there is one openly gay housemate. The openly gay member Preston has been in a feud with metrosexual Ryan over the past few weeks. Ryan however has taken his rage to a whole new level by repeatedly referring to Preston as a 'faggot' and making remarks about gay people. He was even quoted on Twitter as replying to someone by saying: "I would love to see you in person, and smash your gay f*cking face in.”
MTV is not to blame, they can't control individual actions, and the network has been given an excellent rating for gay positive material. Furthermore the show Real World has been at the forefront of tackling LGBT issues for years. Having an an openly gay man with AIDS, a transgender castmate, and a bisexual activist, among many other queer moments.
GLAAD is urging people to contact Ryan Leslie via to demand an apologyTwitter.

demanding a sorry wont do anything wont change his views just make him put on a fake face and say w/e some one writes down for him to say what good will that do...i rather see how the gay cast mate takes and if he can do anything to change ryans view of gays Love<~Peter~>
"Reality" shows actually are as scripted as regular TV shows. MTV may not be responsible for the Twitter crap, but MTV's writers definitely are responsible for starting the whole thing up.
We don't need his empty apologies. Everyone who sees this show knows he's a self-loathing closet case AND the un-coolest member of the cast.
methinks the lady doth protest too much
For him, all he's worth is turning the other cheek!
Just ignore him, he's not worth any effort at all.
Do your part to get all reality television off the air. Stop watching.
You guys know that whole show is scripted, right?
Why start a campaign against this boy while remaining silent on the homophobia of Barack Obama and the Democrats in control of Congress? This boy's tweets mean nothing to me, but the right to live free from discrimination are certainly something I am concerned with. Know which battles to pick and which NOT to conjure up.
