Shameless Self Promotion Sunday

This week I wrote a blog post "Sucking Cock is Gay, Rhinestones are Fabulous (Yes Blanche; There's a Difference) It looks at the way we break down or embrace stereotypes, the way we often accept that there is some essential idea or essence that every gay man fulfills, and the importance of valuing all members of the community whether they live up to ideals or stereotypes of being gay or not.

In which I have discovered the most amusing analogy for understanding sexual attraction ever. There's also a slightly more serious post about asexual rings and purity rings.
NYU's Queer Blog has great pieces this week on, among others, Bonnie Fuller's assertion that Brad and Angelina are "turning Shiloh into a boy"; Lauren Ashley (Miss Beverly Hills) fumbling her Christian anti-gay rhetoric; Patrick Strudwick's undercover ventures in conversion therapy; "A Lesbian in the Toolbox, and the Democratic Party/LGBT relationship.
I posted a call for posts for the first Blog Carnival on Privilege. I'm doing a general focus for the first carnival, but posts on straight privilege are most certainly welcome!
