This was unusually violent towards the woman in the video, really enjoy this blog but this video is not funny or meaningful in any way. The "gay community" has proven itself to be unusually misogynist over the past two years. The way they went on visciously attacking Hillary and Palin, but if anyone said even a word about Barack Obama you were called a RAAACIST RAAACIST RAAACIST! Prop 8 passed because of Obama supporters coming out in droves and voting Yes on 8. They were the key reason it passed. Obama knew what his fans would do because he preached for two years that he does not support gay marriage. Yet somehow the gay community found him to be a Jesus on a stick and wore Obama pride pins with rainbows on it when he refused to march in the gay parade after being invited and chose to go get a hair cut instead. He has never once marched in a gay parade. It was not just the religious right. It was also the religious left. I wish they would make vidoes about all the rappers and baptists, black, asian, and hispanic bigots too. Why is it OK to single out religion but not address the true cause of Proposition 8's passage? Barack Obama supporters.

It was not only the religious left it was teh non-religous every day bigot. Barack Obama voters were the deciding factor in the passage of Prop 8. They did come out in droves and voted yes on 8. It is also true that if you acknowledge this fact that you will be called names such as racist. Barack Obama pulled the race card whenever it benefits him and his voters follow his lead. Thankfully he will most likely serve only one term.

This is an activist blog??!! The above two comments are shameful and bigoted. And I bet you both wonder why you have a hard time reaching out to potential allies, or why LGBTQ people of color feel so alienated (although frankly I don't think you care, with these attitudes). The above video is indeed misogynist and offensive, but then you have to go ahead and respond like this? Talk about a circular firing squad...

Could someone draw me a picture explaining how punching a woman in the face is "comical?" Because I don't get it at all.
Yeah yeah the guy gets slapped once. The woman gets the snot beaten out of her.

If you're going to try to advocate against homophobia, you might want to have a small clue about how homophobia is rooted in misogyny.

To "Anonymous" 1 and 2 - The Mormon church financed the Prop 8 campaign. I doubt the majority of Obama supporters are Mormons or people who fall for idiotic campaign ad lines like "if prop 8 doesn't pass, children will be taught homosexuality in schools!" The pro prop 8 ads were running at the same time as the McCain ads that painted Obama as a child molester for saying sex ed should start in kindergarten, so there you go.

Proposition 8 passed because the LGBT movement within California refrused to address the lies of the Yes on 8" campaign. Essentially abandoning rural and heavily Republican Counties. As a resident of the northstate I did not see one "No on 8" add in the months leading up to the election. I was, on the other hand inundated with adds detailing the threat that Gay Marriage posed to religons, schools, children, your marriage, and society as a whole. The "Yes on 8" camp had no leg to stand on in this election and still won. We can litter these blogs and forums with diatribes about the Mormon Church and black Obama supporters, or we can understand that it is time to venture out of the cities, out of LA and the Bay Area and show the everyone that support for Gay Marriage hurts no one and those who would tell you otherwise are mistaken. Prop 8, as far as I am concerned was the LGBT Community's to lose, and sadly, we did.
