After marriage equality suffered a 24-38 loss in the NY state senate, advocates are now protesting the outcome and demanding full equality for all residents.
Tonight marks the second rally in response to the vote and is organized by Marriage Equality New York. NYC Council Speaker Christine Quinn is also expected to be among the crowd. Signs and noise-makers are highly encouraged.

Please.
Every time they do one of these rallies at Union Square, 100 people show up, Gay Inc. makes its speeches, all the bloggers pat themselves on the back, and NOTHING happens.
If you activist bloggers and Gay Inc itself were more concerned with equality and less with being hailed as the "leaders" of a "movement", maybe this would matter. But it won't.
ps.. these things do make a difference. People sign up for phone banking, volunteering, etc which all MAKE AN IMPACT. try it sometime!
Well, I'm sorry that you're too caught up with being judged as an "ineffective blogger activist" to protest a decision you disagree with. Most of us are there because we actually care. Maybe if you did, you'd come.
I'll be there, judged or not.
Well anonymous these protests do make a difference, calls, letters and petitions are effective.
2 examples:
The speeches by senators yesterday were indicative of how individual stories and calls made a difference in their decision.
The letter of 200 influential NJ dems was sent out, now marriage will get a vote next thurs.
Activism works.
