"Bathroom Bill" is a new term used by right-wing opponents of transgender non-discrimination protections. The term is used to incite the irrational fear that such policies will usher in waves of transgender people using female restrooms and that horror will ensue.

Schubert Flint Public Affairs Continues Anti-Gay Marriage Ads
Schubert Flint Public Affairs is an advertising agency that created many of the ads that helped proposition 8 pass in California, leading to same-sex marriage rights being taken away in the state.
The "National Organization for Marriage" an anti-gay think tank, is continuing their relationship with the ad agency in an attempt to further erode marriage rights for same-sex couples.
I will not give NOM the pleasure of linking to their videos but I can tell you that they are using the typical fear tactics in their messages such as:
“Legalizing gay marriage has consequences for kids.”
Another ad is backed by an unnerving repeated beep that sounds like an EKG on the fritz in an ICU. Someone could die! The ad warns that if legislators pass a marriage equality bill, soon children “will be thinking the unthinkable.”
Join The Power in telling Schubert Flint Public Affairs to stop profiting off of hate.

Anti-Gay Hate Group Allowed on U. Hawaii Campus
University of Hawaii students have been verbally and emotionally harassed by an outside group that has been flown in to the state to use scare tactics due to the students overwhelming support for a civil unions bill.
A mainland U.S. christian hate group calling itself Bema Ministries turned up on the campus last week to preach, harass, photograph, and intimidate students at the Campus Center. They will be there this coming week as well. They showed up on the University of Hawaii's Manoa campus, screamed at students for a few hours on Wednesday, got kicked out because they didn't have a permit, and then returned with a permit issued by the university chancellor the next day.Counter protests are being planned, a sit in at the Chancellor's office is also expected until these demonstrators leave.
The student code of conduct expressly forbids hate speech yet this non-student group came on campus and not only made anti-gay statements, but told Hawaiian students that the sovereignty movement was idolatrous and evil, and told Buddhist students they would burn in hell. The main course of hate was reserved for UH Manoa's gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender and intersex students (Pam's Houseblend).
This is unacceptable, that a non-student, non-Hawaiian hate group is allowed to come onto a campus to harass students. Please contact the chancellor immediately to revoke their permit to enter the campus, this is a safety issue, as well as a violation of the universities principles.

Queer Buycott - Campbell's Soup
The anti-gay hate group, the American Family Association has called for a boycott of Campbell's Soup over their recent ads featuring LGBT people and families.
So, in response we are calling for a buycott and are urging pro-equality consumers to praise the company for showing a commitment to diversity. Your calls, letters, and emails are needed in the face of the thousands who have called the company with disapproving words.
I re-worded the call to action sent by the AFA:
- Send an email to the Campbell Soup Company President Douglas Conant. Tell him you want his company to continue their commitment to diversity and support of LGBT people and families.
- After sending your email, please call Campbell Soup Company (800-257-8443) and their Swanson division (1-800-442-7684) and let the company know you will continue to support them because of their gay and lesbian ads.
- Forward this e-mail to your friends and family so they will know about Campbell's support of equality and LGBT issues.
