Anger Into Action Declaration

This declaration is about showing wide public support for the fundamental rights of LGBT people. The latest marriage amendments and adoption ban passed by our fellow citizens are built on lies and deception, and we can't stand for it.

But we also refuse to fight lies with lies, or hate with hate. We will not give into our anger, and we will not unfairly lay blame for Prop. 8 passing. Instead, we are committed to channeling our energies into bringing about more positive change.

Stand with us against discrimination and pledge to fight until full equality is won for lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender people everywhere. Once you sign, please send a message to all of your friends and family and help us grow our movement of individuals who are committed to equal rights and justice for all.

Queer the Census!

As it stands the 2010 census will not include a question about sexual orientation or gender identity. LGBT people need to be heard and counted so that our community is accurately reflected and catered to with respect to government research and funding. The data collected is critical for issues such as health care, economic stability and even safety.

In addition to demanding that we have data on sexuality and gender, this is the first time the census will count married same-sex couples. Please ensure that you check off the "husband/wife" or "unmarried partner" box.

The National Gay and Lesbian Task Force will send you a FREE Queer The Census sticker to affix to your envelope when you fill out and send your census.

Creating Change- The National Conference for LGBT Equality is being held Jan 28-Feb 1 2009, in Denver Colorado.
