Gayle King who is the editor of O Magazine and host of the Gayle King radio show has spoken up in favor of marriage equality for same-gender couples. King is best known for being Oprah Winfrey's closest friend and has been given a national platform thanks to their close relationship.
New allies are always welcome and we applaud Ms. King for speaking out in favor of LGBT civil rights.

O Magazine Brings Queer Women to the Spotlight
Oprah's O Magazine has a new article by Mary Fischer discussing queer women, gender identity and sexual fluidity. The article goes into personal stories and brings the general public and even members of the community closer to understanding the sexual continuum and the fluidity of our identities.
Check out the article "Why Women are Leaving Men for other Women" on Oprah's website.
Also, be sure to share your opinion and thank O Magazine for initiating dialogue on a taboo and often misunderstood topic that we are just beginning to scratch the surface on as a community and society as a whole.
H/T to Feministing for the article and analysis.

Morning Joe: Seeks a Morning of Trans Bashing
According to the Scandalous Candice Blog
“MSNBC’s morning show called Morning Joe has crossed the line. Morning Joe is a news show hosted by a failed republican congressman named Joe Scarborough, Mika Brzezinski, and Willie Geist.
Today though they crossed the line. They reported on Thomas Beatie, the transgendered male who is having a baby. They put the story in what they call a useless news category “News You Can’t Use” and proceeded to make fun of them and call the couple “disgusting” and make “ewww” sounds. They did this more than once on the show. They also called it “garbage” and saying “people don’t want to wake up to this crap.” That was quoted by Mika Brzezinski. Joe used the story to lead into the next story by saying “this is probably why 81% of Americans believe the country is headed in the wrong direction.” A poll reported by the New York Times.”
Please scroll down on the following page and contact MSNBC and morning Joe about these transphobic and disgusting comments:

If you aren’t familiar with Thomas Beatie the pregnant trans-man please check out the following clip beautifully portrayed yesterday on the Oprah Winfrey show.
On a side note of activism, feel free to contact Oprah to thank her for her touching program on this family and their journey.
