The American Prayer Hour is an inclusive, justice oriented event for prayer and action that is meant to counter the National Prayer Breakfast held by 'The Family' a right-wing fundamentalist organization that has been accused of ties to the “Kill the Gays” bill in Uganda.
The American Prayer Hour will take place nationwide and the hope is to stop the anti-gay bill from moving forward in Uganda, celebrate religious diversity, and to put a spotlight on the religious right and LGBT issues of equality.
The event is non-sectarian and open to people of all faiths or no faith at all.
For a list of locations or to organize your own please check out the American Prayer Hour.
