The Fox News show Red Eye hosted by Greg Gutfeld continues to air transphobic remarks at the expense of various transgender people in the public spotlight, now focusing his attention on a boxer who will transition from male to female. We first called Mr Gutfeld out for his outrageous transphobic and horrific remarks about the "Pregnant Man" FTM, Thomas Beatie. He also spewed out offensive remarks against openly gay congressman Barney Frank.
His attention has now turned to British professional boxer Rob Newbiggen who will undergo sex re-assignment surgery. To report on and discuss the controversial and sensitive topic of transgender athletes competing against their newly assigned sex is one thing but Mr. Gutfeld takes it further.
Mr. Gutfeld not respecting the gender identity of the athlete continues to reference them as "he". Mr. Gutfeld also goes on to joke about the athletes desire to model as saying "you go girl, or boy, or whatever" which mocks not only trans modeling but also continues to disrespect gender identification.
One of the guests on the panel jokes about him fighting and losing to another contestant and that "he will probably go back and want to be a man."
But most offensive is the fact that Mr. Gutfeld questions whether this is a "PR stunt" which they laugh about and say "no man would do that, and of course you lose your friends"
It ends with the suggestion by another panelist for a new show called "Million Dollar Tranny"
As always some will say that we are being too sensitive and looking to pick a fight while not understanding the true nature of this 'intelligent comedy'. There is a fine line between funny and offensive when it comes to comedy, and the line has clearly been crossed in this case and in multiple other situations as evidenced by the links above.
Please contact Red Eye and tell them how you will boycott their transphobic program:

KRXQ Will Not Re-Broadast Until Trans Issue Settled
6/8/09: KRXQ's Rob, Arnie and Dawn show has released a statement after hundreds of emails, calls and 10+ major advertisers pulling their sponsorships of the station.
Their statement reads that they have "failed" their audience and that their words were "unacceptable". They will refrain from broadcasting again until Thursday, June 11th at 7:30 AM of which time they will address the issue with groups and audience members who have "educated" them.
Keep up the good job with emails, lets make sure that their apology and course of action to follow ensures a positive trek forward on behalf of transgender and gender variant youth.
6/2/09: In a lengthy May 28 tirade on the Rob, Arnie & Dawn in the Morning radio show heard in Sacramento, California on KRXQ 98.5 FM and Reno, Nevada on KDOT 104.5 FM, hosts Rob Williams and Arnie States verbally attacked transgender children. While discussing a recent story about a transgender child in Omaha, Nebraska and her parents’ decision to support her transition, the two hosts spent more than 30 minutes explicitly promoting child abuse of and making cruel, dehumanizing and defamatory comments toward transgender children.
Among the comments made by the hosts:
ROB WILLIAMS [11:12]: This is a weird person who is demanding attention. And when it’s a child, all it takes is a hug, maybe some tough love or anything in between. When your little boy said, ‘Mommy, I want to walk around in a dress.’ You tell them no cause that’s not what boys do. But that’s not what we’re doing in this culture.
ARNIE STATES [13:27]: If my son, God forbid, if my son put on a pair of high heels, I would probably hit him with one of my shoes. I would throw a shoe at him. Because you know what? Boys don’t wear high heels. And in my house, they definitely don’t wear high heels.
ROB WILLIAMS [17:45]: Dawn, they are freaks. They are abnormal. Not because they’re girls trapped in boys bodies but because they have a mental disorder that needs to be somehow gotten out of them. That’s where therapy could help them.
ROB WILLIAMS [18:15]: Or because they were molested. You know a lot of times these transgenders were molested. And you need to work with them on that. The point is you don’t allow the behavior. You cure the cause!
ARNIE STATES [21:30]: You got a boy saying, ‘I wanna wear dresses.’ I’m going to look at him and go, ‘You know what? You’re a little idiot! You little dumbass! Look, you are a boy! Boys don’t wear dresses.’
ARNIE STATES [29:22]: You know, my favorite part about hearing these stories about the kids in high school, who the entire high school caters around, lets the boy wear the dress. I look forward to when they go out into society and society beats them down. And they end up in therapy.
TAKE ACTION NOW!
Please contact KRXQ management in Sacramento, California, where the show is produced and demand that radio show hosts Rob Williams and Arnie States publicly apologize. Call on KRXQ to hold Williams and States accountable for their remarks and establish clear standards to ensure their media platform will not be used to condone or promote violence against any parts of the communities they serve.

Justice for Angie Zapata
Angie Zapata an 18 year old Greeley, CO teen was murdered for being transgender. The trial for the alleged killer began today, and it is the first time gender identity has been applied to a hate crimes investigation within the state of Colorado. Her family and friends want to make sure that people who are transgender are fully accepted and protected by our society.

Demand Investigation into Attack on Trans Woman
On January 28th, 2009, a television news report showed an incident in which neighborhood watch patrols in the city of Tarapoto, Peru, chased and caught a travesti (transvestite) and her companion and then physically humiliated and insulted them. Neighborhood watch members cut their victims' hair and forced them to strip before subjecting them to a series of military training exercises until they collapsed from exhaustion. Throughout the ordeal, a crowd of onlookers made fun of the victims.

Demand the Dallas Voice Stop Using "Tranny"
The Dallas Voice and it's Web Log which bill themselves as a "LGB Paper" are not inclusive or sensitive to the T part of the community. They continue to use derogatory words against the trans community. These words lead to insensitivity resulting in the marginalization, victimization and violent murders of transgender people.
The video below describes how harmful it is to the self respect of transgender people when you call them "trannie" and unless they are a entertainer with published articles which we identify ourselves individually as a "Drag Queen or Tranny" please do not call them by these names.
Please save lives and take action! Copy the message below and send the Dallas Voice an email!

Transgender Day of Remembrance - 11/20/08
Today is the 10th annual Transgender Day of Remembrance commemorating all those in the transgender community who lost their lives due transphobia, misunderstanding, and pure hate.
Prayer for Transgender Day of Remembrance
"God full of mercy, bless the souls of all who are in our hearts on this Transgender Day of Remembrance. We call to mind today young and old, of every race, faith, and gender experience, who have died by violence. We remember those who have died because they would not hide, or did not pass, or did pass, or stood too proud, or looked like someone who did. Today we name them: the reluctant activist; the fiery hurler of heels; the warrior for quiet truth; the one whom no one really knew.Suggested actions for the day:
As many as we can name, there are thousands more whom we cannot, and for whom no prayer may have been said. We mourn their senseless deaths, and give thanks for their lives, for their teaching, and for the brief glow of each holy flame. We pray for the strength to carry on their legacy of vision, bravery, and love.
And as we remember them, we remember with them the thousands more who have taken their own lives. We pray for resolve to root out the injustice, ignorance, and cruelty that grow despair. And we pray, God, that all those who perpetrate hate and violence will speedily come to understand that Your creation has many faces, many genders, many holy expressions.
Blessed are they, who have allowed their divine image to shine in the world.
Blessed is God, in Whom no light is extinguished.(CBST)"
-Candlelight vigils / marches
-Visual representation of the number of deaths with:
-Cardboard tomb stones of remembered people
-Paper cutouts of remembered people
-Body outline chalkings of remembered people
-Art / photography displays
Please use the opporunity to commemorate a friend or loved one who has suffered due to transphobia, regardless of whether one is theist, atheist, and regardless of your particular faith, please keep those names in your heart today and think about how we can all work to make this world a better and more just place regardless of ones gender identity/expression.

Trans Bashing on Fox News Over America's Next Top Model
UPDATE: I received an email from Greg Jarret anchor at Fox News, saying he apologized for his transphobic remarks on air 4 days ago. Thanks for taking action to hold the media accountable. Below is a clip of the apology.
Tyra Banks made history this week by announcing that her show America's Next Top Model will feature Isis a transgender model among the contestants.
Fox News (the gay & trans bashing network) can't seem to go a week without making provocative comments about the LGBT community. Below watch as Greg Jarrett anchor of Fox News discusses the upcoming show with Ian Drew of Us Weekly. The conversation is transphobic, and inappropriate. Jarrett continually makes references to Isis as a she/he, him/her and focuses the conversation on the irrelevant genitals of the contestant. He also goes on to say he was "fooled" by her. This conversation is completely trans-misogynist. See for yourself.
GLAAD (Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation) has issued an action alert asking the community to please contact Fox News Channel and call on them to apologize for these obnoxious, insulting and dehumanizing comments.
