"Alternative Lifestyle" is a term used predominantly by those who don't affirm LGBT identity to suggest that being LGBT is non-typical, and in some instances chosen or sinful.

It originally was coined and used by queers. This was back when different lifestyles were actively embraced by our society. Later, when people realized that being lgbt was more profound and innate, the term lost favor.
