Rebuild The Party - Feedback Forum for the GOP

The Grand Old Party, hasn't exactly been the Gay Old Party, at least not openly. The Republicans after suffering major defeats at the polls this month are looking for suggestions to move forward. I am sure you have plenty ideas of your own.

Here are some of my ideas (feel free to steal them) in your message to the GOP.

-Stop using gays and lesbians as a political wedge issue.

-Remove language from the party platform that seeks to eliminate rights based on sexual orientation and gender identity.

-Be more inclusive of the Log Cabin Republicans an (LGBT GOP organization).

-Less government means no constitutional amendments, and not policing what people do in their homes/bedrooms.

Active Campaigns on Sidebar

Just a little site update, thanks to the suggestion from Sabertooth Screaming Lemur one of our loyal readers we decided to add an active campaigns feature to the sidebar. Sabertooth Screaming Lemur suggested a feature for have a listing of companies we should support and those we should boycott.

The active campaigns feature will be updated regularly but will contain the top few posts that are really crucial for us to act on. This is good for those who don't want to have to read every post and simply come to the site for action alerts and also for new readers who didn't see an old post entry that may still be relevant.

I always appreciate feedback and am more than happy to implement suggestions that make the site more user friendly and ultimately leads to making the entire planet a "safe-space". ~ ah, I guess that will be tomorrow's word of the gay ;)

QU Site Feedback

First off I want to thank all my loyal readers and dedicated queer activists who are truly helping to build a safe community here on the net and beyond. Each one of you has brought so much insight and joy and truly help enrich this blog as well as many of the blogs you all write.

In an effort to make Queers United better I would love to get some feedback, positive, negative, neutral, any and all constructive criticism is welcome. What do you like? What do you hate? What would you like to see more or less of?

I like to think of this blog as first and foremost a community, one whereby we all learn and grow from one another but also fight for each others rights.

Moving forward, would you all be interested if I added a message board feature so we can all engage in further conversation on a plethora of topics? What about having specific nights of the week with specified queer topics in a chatroom setting?

When I initially created the blog a few months ago, I just thought I would post action alerts so we can be a more powerful voice but as I and this blog have grown I also find it an opportunity to express myself and learn from you all. I am grateful to everyone who contributes and would love to hear your ideas big or small for moving forward and bringing about more community and a true advancement and liberation for all queer-identified individuals. Thanks!
