Watch the Supreme Court's Oral Arguments on Prop 8

The California Supreme Court will hear oral arguments from both sides of the proposition 8 debate today at 9 am PST. The court must issue a ruling within 90 days, but word has it the decision may come as early as today.

3 Justices already signed on and drafted a resolution so it is possible they will announce their decision today.

Auuugh sound is so clicky and I get ads every five seconds!

I dunno, I'm actually kinda worried. Looks like I missed Starr pounding his fist on the rails or whatever but it doesn't sound like its going well now :/ I have hope though...

I think they will keep the existing marriages but won't overturn prop 8.

Yeah, even though that'd be the strangest contradiction, that's what I was feeling like by some of the judges' responses. Although, of course, they could just totally surprise us too.

I don't honestly know which way this is going to go. I'm hoping for the best, everyone in California.

I don't quite "get" keeping the existing marriages intact but not overturning Prop H8--ex-post facto, perhaps.

It's just a damn shame that bigots have the power to strip us of our rights. There is freedom of religion but I would also like to see freedom FROM religion. Practice whatever faith you wish but do not push it on others. WHY is this such an impossible dream in this country?!
