Please feel free to share any links to queer or queer related topics of interest. You can post a blog entry you made, a website you found interesting. Anything goes as long as it is queer in nature.

How widespread is the phenomenon?... of the strategy of "Let's get tested 2GETHER B4 we have sex, 4 A VARIETY of STDs."
Do sexual health checkups reduce ambiguity and can they be like anything else POTENTIAL sex partners do together?...

Well, this week I was upset to see that James Dobson--founder of Focus on the Family--will be delivering the pre-race prayer at the Atlanta Motor Speedway before the NASCAR Sprint Cup race next week. Like I need him to smear his culture war crap on my race day! I'd like to tell the Atlanta Motor Speedway and NASCAR that not all race fans support Dobson's ideas.
See here. The bit about Dobson and NASCAR is surrounded by a review of a kickass book (not all white Southerners supported the Confederacy in the Civil War), a bit about my hockey boyfriend (I am 50/50 bi), and a purse-size panda cub (not that I'm suggesting anything). There is contact information for AIS and NASCAR, too.
Frankly, while a lot of people don't put "queer" and "NASCAR fan" together, I know the sport infinitely better than cynical right-wingers using it to prop up their "of the people" bona fides, that's for damn sure. I was literally raised in it. I brought my Nuyorussian wife into it. And the guys at Gaytona can assure you that others are out there.

Three posts today!
Bi-invisibility in marriage equality advocacy advertisements (and general discourse); how representation and correct reading of one's orientation affect one's identity; and how labels, language and a space in the discourse allow one's identity to have validity and expression.
Enjoy!
