October is GLBT history month and the Equality Forum has selected 31 diverse icons who represent the GLBT community. Each day of the month a new icon will have a clip about them and we will be making that available to our readers.

I'm sure you will know many of them Mewi.
I will spank my own butt if I don't know many of them. (Oct is our month? Wasn't it coming out month? All these "months" are confusing me. OW!)
October is GLBT history month, coming out is one day Oct 11th. Although I don't think anyone will be mad if you come out before or after lol.
Billie Myers should be an icon as well ;-)
I recall seeing Mr. Monette giving his final interviews when he was dying of AIDS~~what an inspiration he was!
October is also Halloween~~a gay "High Holy Day" of sorts.
So lets combine Halloween and History by recalling another great from our past:
film director James Whale.
Whale gave us Frankenstein (1931) and Bride of Frankenstein (1935).
In 1943, Whale came out publicly, and became the first director in Hollywood to be blacklisted for living an openly gay life.
