The New York Assembly will deliberate and vote on A7732 the marriage equality bill. The bill has passed in previous sessions and is expected to easily pass through again this year, with even more votes in the affirmative.
The state senate is where the bill is uncertain, democrats hold an ever slight majority but four democrats will oppose the measure and no republicans have stepped up to the plate in support.
We must take one step at a time, for now please contact your assemblymembers and urge them to vote in favor of marriage equality.

Ask Your Assemblymember to Support Marriage & GENDA in New York
The 2009 legislative session is here. We need you to make sure your Assemblymember supports marriage equality and the Gender Expression Non-Discrimination Act when these bills come before them again in the coming months. The Assembly passed the marriage bill for the first time by a vote of 85-61 in June 2007 and the GENDA bill by a vote of 108-34 in June 2008.
