Carl Tashian has emailed me to alert you all to a marriage equality flag they created.
This is a protest flag for equal marriage rights in the United States. The flag only has two stars, for Connecticut and Massachusetts (the 5th and 6th states in the union), the only states with legalized gay marriage.
The idea is based on the suffragists who created their own US flag with only four stars, representing the four states that allowed women to vote, they added stars as states started to grant voting rights.
The designer will add stars as more states enact equal marriage rights. All proceeds from products sold off the website will benefit Marriage Equality USA. There are also more graphics and icons that can be used for free.

Absolutely love it. Please spread this idea widely.
This is so much better than the rainbow flag.

I think it is a brilliant idea too :)
AWESOME... wonderful idea...

This is incredible and powerful!
I would TOTALLY wave this flag!
Winx, Jinxi
Oh wow would say so much and go so far for true equality. Instead of this why not getting behind having civil unions for all straight and gay. Then the issue would die out and we would then have equal rights through the feds. And truly do we want to loose out over the word marriage?
That's really cool. Love that it was inspired by the women's suffrage movement - social movements are always more powerful when they can learn lessons from history, I think.
I would totally buy an actual flag like this. And as more and more states legalize marriage, you can sew more stars onto the flag.
