Rick Warren To Deliver Invocation at Inauguration

The New York Times’ Katharine Seelye has is reporting that Rick Warren, the pastor at Saddleback Church, has been chosen by President-elect Barack Obama to deliver the invocation at the inaugural ceremony.

This is the same Rick Warren who recently said that the relationships of his “many gay friends” are no different from child rape, incest or polygamy. He also jumped on the paranoia bandwagon surrounding same-sex marriage by falsely claiming that Prop 8’s failure somehow would have overturned the Constitution’s First Amendment guarantees of freedom of speech and religion.(Box Turtle Bulletin)

Are you looking for someone to email to express your outrage? Well, a well-placed source just provided these email addresses:

parag.mehta@ptt.gov (Parag Mehta is Obama’s LGBT liaison in the transition team.)
dnoble@barackobama.com
bbond@barackobama.com
steve@hildebrandtewes.com (Steve Hildebrandt)
fred.hochberg@ptt.com

You can also contact Sen. Dianne Feinstein’s office. She chaired the Joint Congressional Committee on Inaugural Ceremonies and made the announcement.

Selecting Warren is the ONLY thing Obama will do right over the next four years. Good job Barry...let the heathen rage!

Yes, thank you...perfect example or rage - please continue to do so - it is expected of you. And retarted people are incapable of being delusional or filthy...even they know better than you. Rage on...

Retarded people may not be capable of being delusional or filthy, but republicans sure are able to mix the three quite well.

It's the one thing republicans are capable of.

Hi my name is Anonymous and I am gay. I like to troll gay blogs and leave provocative comments while I fantasize about being gay with all the gays who read the blog and comment on my comments. That way I get to interact with gays. Cauz I'm gay. And I really like interacting with all the gays. Cauz I'm gay.

I voted for Obama, but....I dunno. He doesn't seem gay-friendly. At least McCain had that openly gay Buse guy working for him. (Hillary woulda been the best of all).

It is sad and disappointing that Obama threw gays under the bus just to solidify his political position. Obama doesn't support gay marriage which is the basic civil rights. It seems Obama is not for equality after all. Obama did not say a word against Prop 8 and now he's pissing on and pissing off gay people. It's apparent that gays have only themselves to rely on. It will only makes gays stronger and fight harder for equal rights!!
