Ray B our prodigal brother...we are praying for you...and believe you will come home to the Father who loves and created you...run to the light of the Lord...Jesus is waiting for your return.

He never left anonymous, he is still a devout Christian who loves Jesus. He just decided to embrace the commandment "Thou Shalt Not Lie" and be truthful to the way God created him which was a beautiful gay man.

I am so proud of you, Ray. You have given hope to so many of us. We love you and know you are a child of the King....

Who is Ray asking to not tell him who to love? Us other Christians? Or Jesus? It's our job as Christians to love others, including those whom we think are living a life more sinful than ours, without judgement. Unfortunately, we fail that at times, but we are still called, nonetheless, to strive to follow the commandments of the Bible, if you believe it really is the word of God. No offense to Ray, but his lack of humbleness expressed in the song towards the laws of the Bible is exactly the opposite of what it should be.
I believe it would have been more awing had he written a song about how he knows he is still loved by God and fellow Christians alike despite his human downfall.

Anonymous, did you not listen to the song? He is not pointing to Christians! The first verse is talking about a true story of a black woman and a white man that had to have Marriage redefined here in the USA so that they could legally be married. The law was against it as well as most religions. And once again in the second verse he talks about anyone that wants to be with the one they love is being told NO! With and without the help of lots of religious organizations. The point of his song is That LOVE is the key! And throughout history we have had to make changes so as not to discriminate. Lets keep the civil issues to the law and the religios issues to religion.

i believe the struggle for LGBT equality is similar to the issues with race, but they are not the same. Don't play the race card: why can't gay marriage be important for its own merit?

I have loved all of your music, and even made a Christmas albumn with many of your songs on it. I too am gay, and have had a difficult life, but I have never doubted God's love for me, and it helps to know that you too have gone through the pain of self awareness, and are willing to let the world know that God created us...Although I will probably never marry, I do hope for the sake of the world, that it will be allowed in the near future, and that gays will be allowed to serve openly in the military...Thanks for making my world a bit brighter.
