I picked the wrong time to study abroad! I am missing this event AND the October March on Washington. :(
I'll be thinking of you all and watching on the internets!

" recent arrests and discrimination imposed on same-sex couples for showing their love." What recent arrests and discrimination for public displays of affection are you referring to??

Queers United said...

Mostly referring to discrimination such as lesbians at a baseball game, and gay men in Chico's El Paso Tx.

As for the arrest it is referring to the Mormon Temple promenade event where two men were arrested.

Ironically enough, I will be in Pittsburgh this weekend for a wedding. My partner and I are going to try to attend this between the ceremony and reception. A few summers ago we were kicked out of a bar for sharing an innocent peck on the lips. A few weeks after that we were pushed around by some big bad homophobic frat boys that are so insecure with their own sexuality. Pittsburgh is really the only city I've been harassed in.
