They are the movers and shakers behind legislation such as the Matthew Shepard Act, the Employment Non-Discrimination Act, the Military Readiness Act, the Domestic Partnership Benefits and Obligations Act, the Respect of Marriage Act, the Uniting American Families Act, the Safe Schools Improvement Act, the Reuniting Families Act, and the Every Child Deserves A Family Act.

Action Alert: Thank AAA for Inclusive Policy

AAA has publicly stated their support for same-sex couples after criticism that some married and domestic partners were not receiving the family rate. Their recognition of same-sex couples has prompted anti-gay organizations and their followers to send a barrage of emails and phone calls to AAA demanding they stop this policy.

It is pertinent that we voice our approval and thank AAA for this inclusive policy.

Resisting divisive attempts by the extreme right, the Iowa House blocked movement on a Constitutional amendment that aimed to take away the freedom to marry in Iowa. With your help, our fair-minded legislators stood strong, voting 54-44 to get back to work on issues of common concern to Iowa families!
