Send George W. Bush a Retirement Card!

After eight years of treating gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender Americans like second-class citizens, George W. Bush is about to leave office. Send him your own personal retirement card celebrating this historic occasion.

Somehow that message just doesn't quite seem to capture my feelings...

How did President Bush treat the lgbt community like second class citizens? And if he did, he is still your president and is due respect. President Elect Obama will treat unborn babies like second class citizens as well as wealthy americans, but I still have a responsibility to not be rude or send him a nasty note.

Anonymous if you truly feel that way about the issue you should direct your concern to Obama.

I am pro-choice, pro-women, and pro-equality, and I do not respect Bush for many reasons, one being the fact that he used gay rights as a wedge issue while campaigning, and had an 8 year administration of lacking gay rights, and not adequately funding HIV/AIDS research.

President Bush gave money and resources to fight HIV/AIDS both in the US and domestically. No matter how any campaign or public official spends the money they are in charge of, it will never make anyone happy. President Bush spent money in many other important areas including, firstly keeping Americans safe for the past 7 years, sex education, as well as breast cancer research. Unfortunately not everyone can be happy. And Queers United I would hardly call being pro-life being pro-women because of all the negative consequences that come from aborting a child as I am sure you are very well aware.

Bush funded absitnence only sex ed which doesn't work. We much teach abstinence as the safest option, and then the healthiest options for those engaging in sex.

This is not an abortion website so I don't want to get into that, but I believe the government should not interfere with a woman's body and that the life of the already alive woman is more important than the to be living embryo. Some gays are pro-choice while others are opposed to abortion rights.
