Congratulate Obama and Remind Him to Act for LGBT Equality!

Barack Obama is now officially the president of the United States of America. The celebrations continue, and the excitement can still be felt throughout the nation. That being said, the president faces tough challenges ahead.

Please call and email to congratulate him on this historic election and to remind him that the LGBT community is counting on him to act quickly to advance our civil rights.

here's what i wrote (500 characters exactly):

First of all, congratulations. You are all very brave for coming into power during this bleak time in American history. I know there is much to be done, but i sincerely hope you don't forget your promise to ensure the rights of the LGBT community, and bestow upon same-sex civil unions all the same rights and privileges afforded to any marriage. If there is anything I can to locally to help this issue get to your desk, please let me know. This is as urgent to us as the economic crisis. Thank you.

If you go to the official Whitehouse web site www.whitehouse.gov and click on Civil Rights you will see Obama's proposed Gay Rights agenda!

It was posted at the same time he officially became the President at 12 Noon EST.
