Did Obama Team Play Us Over Bishop Robinson?

During the inauguration kick off party at the Lincoln Memorial, openly gay Bishop Gene Robinson of the Diocese of NH gave the opening prayer. This was seen by many as an olive branch given to the gay community in light of the anti-gay preacher Rick Warren invitation.

While, the appearance of Bishop Robinson is historic in nature, it was not carried by HBO or NPR the only two companies with filming rights.

After receiving hundreds of comaplints, they then promised to carry it on the later broadcast, yet it was not seen on the 7pm transmission.

After Elton has contacted HBO to find out why the Bishop was not televised.

"The producer of the concert has said that the Presidential Inaugural Committee made the decision to keep the invocation as part of the pre-show."

There are also reports from people who were there live that there were 'sound difficulties' and most people in the crowd of 500,000 did not even hear Bishop Gene Robinson speak.

Is the Obama team trying to play it both ways? Trying to shut us up, over the Rick Warren fiasco, while also silencing the voices of the LGBT community?

We are not pointing fingers, or accusing anyone of any wrongdoing, but we have a right to know why the well planned event did not go according to plan, or did it?

Seriously?? This post is all about pointing fingers and making accusations.

Have you never planned something that didn't go as you intended? Things go wrong...that's life. Events this large are even more likely to have problems, just because of the sheer size of it. You're seeing a conspiracy where there probably was none, and you're making your whole cause look bad when you make ridiculous accusations like this. If there was a pattern of things like this happening, then you can make a case. One instance of bad sound does not a conspiracy make.

Sarah it is very suspicious that the Presidential Inauguration Committee selected him for the "pre-show" and that they knew the "pre-show" would not be taped.

I am not accusing, because I need more evidence, but at this point I am alleging it is the fault of the Inauguration Committee.

making a mountain out of a molehill. in my opinion this shouldn't have been an issue to begin with. OMG Obama was going to be pick someone to give an invocation at his inguration. which meant
a.)pick someone to piss of the left or
b.)pick someone to piss of the right

if he picked option a than he can appease them by you know following through on campaign promises if he had picked option b the right wouldn't have given him any honeymoon period. he's a politician not the messiah.

there are more important things than this such as repleaing DOMA, Don't Ask Don't Tell and Prop 8. this in my is a knee jerk reaction to our own failures when it came to prop 8.

This is another major FU. It is now appearing that it was intentional. Of course HBO is denying their involvement and pointing the finger at Obama's team. They appear to be the culprit. So I will point the finger at them. This time, my middle finger. The same finger they seem to be pointing at everyone who is gay. This is no small matter. If you think that Obama is going to support Prop 8, you had better say another prayer. This time for people to hear!!!

Warren is VERY dangerous and so is his movement. Obama is nothing compared to the influence that this bigot is amassing. Wake up gays before it is too late.
