Word of the Gay: "Zebra Stripe"

"Zebra Stripe" is a term describing an inborn trait or behavior that is consistent since a young age, such as sexual orientation and gender identity.

How would you use it in a sentence?

"He says he's gay, but it's not exactly a zebra stripe..."

"mom, dad, I've always been this way. It's a Zebra stripe."
"Oy vey Honey! You think you're a lesbian *and* a zebra now?"

I get the concept, but it's a bit.... clunky.
