Arizona's Wingspan LGBT Center Needs Your Help!
The economic hardships are hitting all sectors of the economy hard, and have been a particular cause of hardship for LGBT nonprofits such as queer community centers trying to stay afloat.
Wingspan has been serving Tucson's LGBT community since 1988 and with the economic downturn has come drastic cutbacks for the organization. The LGBT and straight supportive communities would sorely miss this center and it's vital services if the door's close on it, which is a very real possibility.
The group is desperately seeking volunteers to take the place of former paid staffers and also looking for any and all donations to help them continue to serve the community.
If you have a few extra dollars, donate to Wingspan or your local LGBT Community Center.

Recruiting Volunteers to Help The Queer Agenda!
I just want to thank those who have heeded this posts call and have begun to help out. In particular Stephen, Seth, Mike, Vallan, Evilslutopia, Paula and many others of you have been adding entries on facebook, myspace, and your own blogs, and I want to thank you so much. Having you guys help spread the word is critical in two ways. 1. It allows more eyes to see the material, which results in more people taking action (emailing, writing, calling, boycotting, protesting, etc). 2. The less time I have to spend promoting the actions, the more time I have to find more information and action alerts, and put out more postings.
How can you help?
- There are different opportunities for people to help list each incoming post to different social networking sites like twitter, myspace, reddit, etc let me know if you would to be responsible for one.
- If anyone has talent making videos or graphics, perhaps you can get in touch and we can start working on this for specific campaigns. Videos can be uploaded to youtube and go viral, and graphics/banners can be placed on many pages, it would be a whole new way to promote our actions.
- Create your own entry on activism and different calls to action, and you could link and credit your site for such work. You could do as much or as little as you want, no obligations.
Thanks again for your loyal readership and committed activism, together we ARE making a difference!

Volunteer to Defeat Florida's Amendment #2
"Fairness for All Families and the VoteNoOn2.com campaign need you to volunteer at the polls on Primary Day - August 26th - and help defeat Amendment #2, the so-called "marriage protection" amendment.
Primary Day offers one of the best opportunities we'll have to educate voters. With widespread participation by you, your friends and family, we will take full advantage of this chance to talk to voters face-to-face about the harmful consequences of Amendment #2, the deceptively named "marriage protection" amendment.
Of course this amendment doesn't protect anyone's marriage. However, it does take away protections and benefits like healthcare from all unmarried couples - gay and straight.
Register today for a morning (7:00-10:00 am), afternoon (11:00 am-2:00 pm), evening (4:00-7:00 pm) shift, or all three! We'll provide you with training and the materials to have a successful Primary Day experience."
