Never one to be shy about tackling the so called "homosexual agenda," conservative news channel Fox News discussed the controversial song "I kissed a Girl" by Katy Perry. They title the segment "Unholy Melody" and talk about how Katy Perry formerly a Christian singer, can no longer be considered a Christian. "It shows girls you got to do something really naughty to get noticed". I didn't know that a girl on girl kiss was considered "unholy" anti-christian, and "naughty". The anchor goes on to say "What kind of message of confusion does this send to kids?"
Fox News is right to address that its wrong that our culture has a double standard when it comes to two females kissing versus two males kissing. They are also correct in pointing out that it is blatantly misogynist for our culture to encourage female kissing simply for the pleasure of male viewers. That being said the song by Katy Perry is already filled with homophobia in my opinion and Fox News has just added their additional homophobic rant. Instead of taking Katy Perry to task on being anti-queer they decide that she is pro-queer and a bad influence.
Please click to contact "The Live Desk with Martha & Trace" and tell them to stop their blatant homophobic news coverage.

Fox, Fox...I'm kind of mad at them for actually making me agree with them. I wish they had stayed more with the double standard topic and maybe used Perry as an example instead of calling her "unholy" and "anti-christian" because she made a little song about kissing girls. That's just silly. No one's ever going to see her as anti-queer because they can't get past the song's chorus and the "ooh naughty!" aspect...
I personally just wish this song would go away. It's not that awesome :/ All people are doing is giving Perry the attention she wanted. I've rolled my eyes so many times at this chick they're going to get stuck.
(sorry for that rant, jeez I just can't stand that damn song or Katy Perry)
Ugh, it's just ridiculous....
I think just as offensive, not to mention LAME, is her song "You're so gay" ("you're so gay/you're so gay/and you don't even like boys"). Talk about encouraging an improper and degrading use of the word 'gay.' Annoying much.
T.R. - this song is becoming so popular, sadly I think it will take a while before it goes away.
lesbilicious and phil - i agree its ridiculous and lame. katy perry should issue an apology, but so should fox. doubt either will.
QU: Yeah, it is going to take it a while to go away, unfortunately. I'm also afraid of the pop starlets that might try to follow in her footsteps. Or if she tries to make another song in the same vein. I'm giving too much thought to this aren't I?
Also, I know this is kinda late but I just re-read the lyrics of Ur So Gay and realized...yeah, it is pretty homophobic in addition to just stupid. My eyes are tired of rolling :/
The part I really dislike the most of this whole farce of a "news story" on this is the part where they say "she used to be a Christian..." and another reporter chimes in "not any more!" to gales of laughter! I mean come on here! How very stuck in the dark ages are these folks? That this is the worst example of "news" and "shocking" they can come up with? I am incredulous.
bridge - that part pisses me off as well, there are many christian denominations that are inclusive of LGBT people. Who is Fox to decide what brand of Christianity is right?
I really hate this song. It is lesbophobic and turns sexuality into some kind of experiment. It delegitimizes lesbain relationships as something to just do for fun. I don't think that it promotes anything positive at all.
I don't understand why people think it's homophobic...I see nothing in the lyrics that even allude to anti-gayness. Look at other songs that use the "f" word [referring to gay men] and other slurrs. They aren't getting media attention for their material, but a girl sings a song about experimenting and all of the sudden she's homophobic and a bad influence. Funny that.
Renee - While I have no problem with people who are bi-curious or sexually experimenting, my problem here is she doesn't seem to be bi-curious she just equates kissing a girl to being rebellious and naughty.
Lauren - I think this singer/song writer is def homophobic. She writes about same-sex kissing as a naughty and bad thing. Also did you read the lyrics to her song "ur so gay" I made a post on that, please check it out. I think those lyrics are much worse.
I think what Katy Perry is referring to as "naughty" is the fact that she's kissing other girls and she has a boyfriend. And even if you don't look at it that way, I think she is making fun of homophobia in a way by saying it's naughty, because she later says "it's innocent."
However, I have listened to "Ur So Gay" and I find it incredibly offensive and disgusting.
hahaha, i like the part where the guy says can "can you imagine what happens if a boyband sings about kissing a boy" - check this out. i posted this on my blog too:

anyway, YES i agree totally that the "You're So Gay" song is totally homophobic! WTH! and this coming from a girl who sings about kissing other girls. i think ms perry chooses these songs just to catch our attention. it's so low brow.
and i so agree with bridgeout - how does singing about kissing girls equate anti-christian?! FOX IS DISGUSTING.
