LOL!! Of course, I am hearing another new word here first! Love it!
Thanks! :)
hehe thanks =)
I would like this term fine, except it gets used to fan the flames of lesbian-versus-bi-woman drama. Women who have been very hateful to me, or implied to L'Ailee that I would dump her ass for the first cute delivery guy who comes to our door, tend to call themselves by this term. I'm glad that:
1. L'Ailee and I met when we were young and didn't know about this stuff.
2. L'Ailee ain't "gold star", either, only a lesbian!
I would like to meet more women who use this term without implying that something is wrong with other women-loving women.
I've heard of this before...
I guess I'm a "Gold Star Lesbian," although I don't like how it makes women who have had sexual relations with men seem "less than gold star" quality.
But a funny term, nonetheless.
Thank you, Lauren. Just thank you.
There *should* be a term for it, you know? I like it better than Kate Clinton's "penis-pure," anyway.
ROFL@Penis Pure. I'd never heard that one! Whenever I hear this word of the gay, I associate it with the gold star stickers your teachers put on your particularly good homework assignments in grade school. It counts for about that much in the real world, but it's a distinction nonetheless.
My pet term for such women is wall-to-wall lesbians. All-over gay, when it comes to the shag. :P
HA!! That's a good one.
HUGS!!!
did you know gold star is the term used by the military for children orphaned by war? A gold star child is someone whose parent was killed in a war.
Why does there have to be a name for it at all? What good can come from this distinction? It only serves as a means to divide the community... I have met those who have referred to themselves as "gold star lesbians"; and I can honestly say that I have never met a group of more pretentious cretins in my life. I have never slept with a man, I never will; I will also never refer to myself as a "gold star lesbian" because I don't see myself as any better than those who have slept with men in their lives.
