I read this story about the backlash against a music teacher in CA who had gender reassignment surgery.

In contrast, here is a story about some teachers in CA who took there students on a field trip to the wedding of a lesbian teacher.

It never ceases to amaze me how this great state of mine differs in social and political views from region to region and even neighborhood to neighborhood. Fascinating and surreal at the same time.
