Miley Cyrus Comes Out for Marriage Equality!

American singer, actress and author Miley Cyrus from the hit Disney show Hannah Montana has come out publicly with her support for same-sex marriage.

In response to the current fiasco over Miss USA contestant Miss California who publicly stated her opposition to equal marriage, gossip columnist Perez Hilton asked Cyrus for her thoughts.

The pop star went on to say that:

"Everyone deserves to love and be loved and most importantly smile...God's greatest commandment is to love. And judging is not loving. That's why Christians have such a bad rep" (KBS Radio).

It is so critical for celebrities who hold a lot of media attention and influence over the public to speak out, particularly Miley Cyrus who speaks to millions of youth nationwide.

Please thank Miley Cyrus by contacting her through her Myspace page.

Eh, she is right about being judgmental. And it's great that she seems to be for marriage equality but I'm not quite ready to fall all over Miss "Chink Eye" Cyrus quite yet.

What in the world is T.R.Xands thinking? Someone who supports causes like equality yet still uses hurtful, racial slang doesn't make any sense to me. Equality for all except "Chink Eyes"?

You need to get over the "chink eyes" thing. She's a kid and that's what kids do. She said she didn't mean anything by it and I believe her. My daughter is asian and didn't understand why everyone was making a big deal about what she did. To her it was her favorite actress doing something fun with friends. Take a break and start to love like Miley says. Btw you saying chink eyes is as racial as someone making them!

Either Anonymous doesn't get to tell me what to "get over" HAHAHAHAHA.

I'll apologize for the "chink eye" comment, that was overly snarky of me, but I'm not going to "get over" her little stunt. Using her age as an excuse is silly too, she's obviously old enough to understand marriage equality but not why making slanty eyes is offensive...? Okay!

Uh, first Anon. You're an idiot. It's in reference to Miley Cyrus "jokingly" made her eyes a bit slanted in a photo with other friends who were doing the same thing. Again, you're an idiot. Go away. Please. Goodbye.

Second Anon. I gather that you are not in fact Asian, as you say that your daughter is Asian in such a way that I can only assume you either adopted her or married one of her parents. Either way, you don't know anything about the Asian experience in America, and if your daughter is adopted chances are she doesn't either. You have no say. The next time you say "Get over it" I hope someone pops you in the mouth.

Oh are still a talentless piece of trash, but thanx for the support!

Hear hear, JS.

I think everyone needs to re-read what Miley said. She never said she supports gay marriage only that God loves everyone regardless of their choices. The Bible says the same thing. Love the sinner, hate the sin.

She is a role model that I support. I would have pegged myley rae as a REPUG PHOBE.

But, I feel really bad that I stereotyped that was and I apologize if she is reading this.
