Reality TV Star Kim Kardashian Responds to Miss California Remark

Television personality celebrity Kim Kardashian best known for her E! reality show Keeping Up With The Kardashians is the latest celebrity to speak out against Miss California's anti-marriage remark at the Miss USA competition.

“I don’t agree with her narrow mindedness and neither do a lot of people. I’m not so narrow-minded so I definitely think a lot broader. Everyone has the right to be happy and be treated equally and I think not allowing gay marriage just kind of puts us back. I believe you’re in love with who you’re in love with, and you should be able to marry them. No one should tell someone else how to think or how to feel.”

“I obviously have a completely different opinion but I think her answer was true to her. That answer represented her and how she felt. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. She stood up for what she believes in so she should be happy with that backlash”

she stood up for what she belived in and its hard to do expecially when alot of people dont agree. Good for her.I think your also closed minded when you backlash at someone who dares to be confident about there own beliefs. Dont be a hipocrite.

Why is it that anti-gay comments are often written by people who can't spell? Because it's a matter of ignorance and education.

Just because a person believes in something doesn't mean that it can't be wrong. For example, the Roman Catholic Church and their Pope was wrong about the Earth being the center of the universe... and they finally apologized to Galileo in 1992. There is no reason why that can't happen again. The Pope may be wrong about his views of homosexuality.

But religion and upbringing aside, Miss California's answer was poorly articulated. She could have expressed her views with poise and without offending people. She could have said that it's a choice for each state and each voter to decide. She could have said that her family and her upbringing defined marriage between a man and a woman but that does not mean all families subscribe to that... which is much better than saying "No offense."

Same-sex marriage has been around for six years here and if anything it's been good for social harmony and for the economy. It's been good for FREEDOM and "the pursuit of happiness."

This is for Anon 1.

Gay people aren't intolerant just because they are fighting for equality. When another person's views and opinions hurt another person's chance at equality and freedom, you better damn well expect them to stand up for what is right. And Ms. Prejean is wrong.

Additionally, Anon 1, learn how to spell.
