Pepsi Donates 500K to PFLAG

Pepsi Co. has donated $500,000 to "Straight for Equality" a program by Parents & Friends of Lesbians and Gays (PFLAG). The program seeks to reach out to straight allies and educate them about LGBT issues.

Jacqueline Millan, Director of PepsiCo Corporate Contributions, said:

"We are delighted to continue our partnership with PFLAG. The Straight for Equality in the Workplace training program is unique in that it is promoting the necessary message of inclusion to untapped groups within the local community, and that is a crucial step towards building a healthy working environment."
As you could imagine right-wing anti-gay groups are already fired up and threatening Pepsi.

Please be sure to contact Pepsi and thank them for donating to LGBT causes and specifically to the "Straight for Equality" program of PFLAG. We must demonstrate that our population is full of brand loyal consumers who watch carefully the political and social ramifications of decisions made by corporations.

QU, have you thought about setting up a widget showing the products/companies that should be praised, and those that should be boycotted/get angry letters? You could link to the article explaining, but it would be a quick and easy way to keep track.
Just a suggestion.

Hey Saber that is a good idea, I would like to have something that keeps track of active campaigns we are working on. Do you have a suggestion for a place to get ced widget?

Well I know Blogger has a whole bunch of widgets but it would be easiest to just post a list of links under "good" and "bad" headings and then put it in a sidebar; you'd have to set up the links with the posts you've written. For example under "good" would be "PepsiCo" and then link it to this post, under "bad" would be, say, Bolthouse farms. It would be something that you guys at QU would have to update manually with new developments as you hear about them, but I think it would be worth it.

By the way, I did contact Pepsi, and so sis the other 10,000 Bible believing folks I told about this story...I will be praying that you will come to know Christ Jesus and renounce your homosexual ways.

Yes, and we will be praying for you too and your deviant lifestyle of eating shellfish lev 11:9-12. We also hear you didn't keep the sabbath holy and are therefore going to hell, we will pray hard for you.
