Exxon Mobil Continually Refuses to Recognize LGBT Employees

Shareholders at Exxon Mobil have once again voted down a proposal to add protections based on sexual orientation and gender identity to the company policy.

Exxon Mobil's leadership maintains that they are not required to pass anti-discrimination laws or support domestic partners and say that activists should focus on the federal level for such change.

The Human Rights Campaign has been persistent in trying to get the mega oil company to changes its policies over recent years and will continue to put pressure on them. Other companies such as British Petroleum, Chevron and Shell, score a 100% rating.

Let Exxon-Mobil know you won't support them until they put an end to their corporate-sanctioned discrimination.

I've been following this issue in the news this past week and am just horrified. Just goes to show you how big companies, with big money come to think they're invincible and can do what they want.

I will go to BP stations for the rest of my life if I have to, we have them all over Michigan! No skin off my back! *lol*

vyzion360: If you have Citgo stations where you live, they are even better. Profits from them go to help the Venezuelan people rather than starting wars in the Middle East.

Here's my comment to Excon Mogul:
"Your refusal to put into a place an lgbt anti discrimination policy is why I am not a customer of yours. If you behave in a way that is contemptuous of me, I am not going to buy your products."

I live in New Zealand and used to work for Mobil here as a retail attendant, they were pretty crappy towards ALL their employees, and actually, they don't give a sh*t about their customers either, they're constantly cutting back on the service they provide and they're always the last to adjust their prices downward. They also have an appalling environmental record. It's because they don't have to try hard to make money - they're easily the biggest oil company here and they're the biggest supplier to the commercial sector. People don't mean sh*t to Mobil.
