I spent all day Friday writing an article on how to write a rock-solid complaint to the IRS to as it to investigate the LDS Church's violations of the rules governing nonprofit groups. http://www.civlib.com/2008/11/how-to-file-complaint-asking-irs-to.html

A.N.S.W.E.R. LA is a JOKE! The Silverlake rally was saved by leaders of our community after the ANSWER people completely screwed the pooch. They are unorganized and not interested in peaceful protest. One of their members was kicking and screaming at some of our Gay brothers and sisters. This ANSWER organization is not a Queer group at all. In fact one of them told my friend that they don't care about Prop 8 they were just looking for press for their own organization. They tried to hijack our cause. It's frikin shameful! We're struggling for our basic rights and this yahoo organization nearly messes everything up by trying to incite violence and get our people in trouble for it while they hide behind their lawyers. I hope Queers United will not post any more rallies by this deceitful organization. The night was not lost though because our community leaders stepped in and worked with us to get us what we wanted which was to march peacefully. The LAPD were amazing and really treated us all with respect. Despite Answer trying to get us to bust through the police line (which we didn't) there were no incidents. We must keep the good fight going and turn to our community leaders for guidance and support if we are going to win this thing. Thank you LAPD and thank you Gay and Lesbian leaders for being there to save the night!

While Mormons have received the bulk of the publicity, Catholics also played a major role in the passage of Proposition 8.

My follow-up election response to the right-wing commenters on the Intarwebs is at my blog. It's not entirely queer-related, but there are some queer elements.

www.jointheimpact.com - I think this event should get some promotion and get the word out to everyone!

At http://jointheimpact.com they are organizing groups in every major city in the United States to conduct protest rallies on Saturday. I think this will probably be all over the national news.
