"Straight Acting" is when a gay person is not exhibiting any mannerisms that appear to fit an LGBTQ stereotype. For example a gay man who tries to fit in by avoiding seeming effeminate, or a lesbian who tries to avoid seeming overtly masculine.

... how was this dude's picture chosen? Hahahaha.
He was a gay contestant on Survivor, but he didn't want anyone to know for fear he would be kicked off.
Ah, thank you!
LOL...most queers who say they are "straight acting" are the easiest to pick out as queer. It's all self loathing and self consciousness.
Just pointing out that being a femme lesbian and being "straight acting" are different things. Being lesbian and being masculine are different things. Trying to change your gender presentation to fit a stereotype is just as constricting and uncomfortable as trying to hide your sexuality to fit the mainstream.
