Word of the Gay: "He-She"

"He-She" can take on a few different meanings. It is most commonly used in a derogatory fashion against transgender people in the process of transitioning. It can also be used as an offensive synonym for bisexuals, and to describe really feminine or masculine gays or lesbians.

Huh, I never thought of applying it to bisexuals...when I got that I admit I kind of chuckled *cough* but yeah I hate the term he-she, it's always sounded really juvenile to me :/

Happy New Year, btw.

Happy new year!

I actually heard my grandmother use this term about two days ago, saying that men that had their hair long in her days were "he-shes."
I told her that it could be considered offensive and she asked me if I'd rather her say queer, which she described as men who like other men. It was actually kinda funny how she described it, though.
When I told her they weren't the same thing, she told me she couldn't tell the difference.
All in all, I found it funny in a ridiculous sort of way.

Anyway, looks like I'm not telling her I'm trans for, well, maybe forever
