Word of the Gay: "Butch"

"Butch" is a popular term within LGBTQ sub-culture and refers to someone who exhibits masculine traits.

The terms "butch" and its feminine counterpart femme are often used to describe lesbians and bisexual women, but also occasionally gay men.

Really? Butch can be used for gay men? Never heard of it.

Could you put it into a sentence or context or something?

preset it isn't as commonly used among gay men but it is used at times. For example many in the bear community (men who are masculine, hairy, and don't conform to the gay stereotype) would be considered butch.

I like my women on the softer side
of butch.
